MaltaCode is a small web developer in Gozo, Malta. We build and host websites and apps for our clients. Here is, in plain words, where your website lives and how we handle the data on it.
Your website stays in the EU
- Our servers are rented from Hetzner, a German hosting company, in its data centres in the EU.
- Every night a full backup is made to separate Hetzner backup storage, also in the EU. We keep restore points for the last 7 days, 4 weeks and 6 months.
- All websites run over HTTPS, and the servers are updated and monitored by us.
Your data is yours
The content of your website and the personal data on it (your visitors, customers or members) belong to you. You decide what is collected and why, and you are responsible for it — for example your own privacy policy and cookie consent. We only store it and work on it to provide the service you ordered, or when you ask us to. On request we give you a full copy of your website, free of charge.
Data Processing Agreement (GDPR)
Under the GDPR, a host needs a written agreement with its clients about personal data. Ours is section 12 of our Terms and Conditions, and you accept it when you order hosting. If your organisation needs a separate signed copy, email maltacode@gmail.com.
